About 2 years ago, my grandfather asked for one of my bamboo plants. I don't know if he ever understood my passion for bamboo, but it was the last plant he planted. After he passed away last year, the shoots that came up were twice as large as normal.

Dendrocalamus Giganteus is a beautiful structural bamboo which originates from Indonesia. It is widespread in Brazil and used primarily in handicrafts, fencing, and now construction.

I was anxious to see this year's growth, being far away in the US and very happy to see these photos Regina (my father's girlfriend) took...
